The incredible Broadway’s Production: DEAR EVAN HANSEN

(CINEMATOLOGIA USA)

DEAR EVAN HANSEN
WINNER OF SIX TONY® AWARDS INCLUDING BEST MUSICAL AND THE GRAMMY® AWARD FOR BEST MUSICAL THEATER ALBUM

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. DEAR EVAN HANSEN is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN has struck a remarkable chord with audiences and critics everywhere, including The Washington Post who says DEAR EVAN HANSEN is “Theatrical magic. One of the most remarkable shows in musical theatre history.” The New York Times calls it “a breathtaking knockout of a musical.” And NBC Nightly News declares the musical “an anthem resonating on Broadway and beyond.”

DEAR EVAN HANSEN features a book by Tony Award winner Steven Levenson, a score by Grammy®, Tony® and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), and direction by four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).

Dear Evan Hansen is a play that touches every spectator in the theater emotionally. Bringing socially necessary issues, such as anxiety, depression and the dangers of the internet. But, on the other hand, lightening the narrative with comedy and the daily lives of Americans, as for example the experience of “Tacos Tuesday” is mentioned. As we know, it’s a habit for Americans to prepare tacos for dinner on Tuesdays. Thus, the play fully enters the current scenario. Broadway is known worldwide for impeccable performances and we cannot fail to mention the CAST, which gives itself in a remarkable way to each character. The actor who plays Evan (Anthony Norman) brings a show of acting, I can even tell that he was really suffering from anxiety the whole play. Body movements, expressions and acting showed the anxiety face to face for everyone watching.

A stage with a digital backdrop and few scenographic objects, but which conveys delicacy and aesthetically strategic lighting on the production side. Bringing the involvement of affective exchanges involving romance, friendship and family, the play makes us feel part of what is lived in fiction. With the presence of a musical band on stage, which certainly enriched the show even more.

We encourage everyone to experience Dear Evan Hansen, a show of reflection and a lot of emotion.
