O livro trata de um encontro acidental e infortuno, entre Hannah e Connor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O filme conta a hist\u00f3ria de Hannah, interpretada por Angelia Jolie, uma bombeira na floresta de Montana. Ap\u00f3s ter cometido alguns erros no passado, Hannah tenta lidar diariamente com seus monstros; posicionada em uma torre solit\u00e1ria de vigia de inc\u00eandio no cora\u00e7\u00e3o da floresta, Hannah  luta para enfrentar o seu trauma emocional, que aconteceu devido a uma  falha de julgamento, da qual nunca se perdoou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Na sua luta constante,&nbsp;seu caminho se cruza com Connor (Finn Little), um menino cujo pai, Owen (Jake Weber), precisa desesperadamente fugir para  proteger seus segredos perigosos. Sem poder recorrer a muitas pessoas Owen pede a ajuda do policial Ethan (Jon Bernthal) e da sua esposa Allison (Medina Senghore).
