Sem dar <em>spoilers <\/em>de como s\u00e3o os cr\u00e9ditos finais, os cr\u00e9ditos iniciais s\u00e3o eficientes na medida em que nos apresentam informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o casal de protagonistas sem maiores enrola\u00e7\u00f5es. Assim, quando a hist\u00f3ria propriamente dita come\u00e7a n\u00f3s j\u00e1 sabemos, por exemplo, quando elas se conheceram e h\u00e1 quanto tempo est\u00e3o juntas, o que economiza tempo para que o roteiro se preocupe com outros assuntos. Infelizmente, por\u00e9m, a abertura e o encerramento do longa s\u00e3o praticamente seus \u00fanicos aspectos positivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As namoradas Abby (Kristen Stewart) e Harper (Mackenzie Davis) est\u00e3o prestes a passar o Natal em uma reuni\u00e3o de fam\u00edlia na casa dos pais desta \u00faltima. N\u00e3o \u00e9 f\u00e1cil transformar nomes carism\u00e1ticos como Mary Steenburgen, Victor Garber e Alison Brie em figuras detest\u00e1veis, mas o filme consegue com louvores, tornando qualquer tentativa de reden\u00e7\u00e3o em um recurso artificial. Desse modo, quando determinadas resolu\u00e7\u00f5es ocorrem e o filme pede por nossa empatia, j\u00e1 \u00e9 tarde demais. Passamos demasiado tempo acompanhando pessoas irritantes, ao passo que as que apresentam alguma profundidade, como Riley (Aubrey Plaza), recebem pouco tempo de tela.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al\u00e9m disso, s\u00e3o escassas as cenas que divertem, o que prejudica um projeto que aposta no c\u00f4mico. As tentativas de fazer rir, como na cena em um telhado ou em uma pista de patina\u00e7\u00e3o, s\u00e3o p\u00e1lidas e com muito pouca inspira\u00e7\u00e3o. E n\u00e3o deixa de ser frustrante ver um enredo que se pretende atual empregando uma das conven\u00e7\u00f5es mais batidas do g\u00eanero: o amigo gay que vive de dar conselhos \u00e0 protagonista. Com frases previs\u00edveis (\u201c<em>O qu\u00e3o ruim pode ser?<\/em>\u201d) e constrangedoras (\u201c<em>Voc\u00ea \u00e9 o amor da minha vida<\/em>.\u201d), o roteiro tampouco ajuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9 clara a tentativa da diretora, a atriz Clea DuVall, de entregar uma com\u00e9dia rom\u00e2ntica alinhada com os tempos modernos, interessada em representatividade e supera\u00e7\u00e3o de preconceitos. Mas \u00e9 justamente pela seriedade desses temas que n\u00e3o se pode contentar com pouco.
