E um olhar mais atento permite identificar que tais performances geralmente v\u00eam acompanhadas de dire\u00e7\u00f5es competentes (Paul Thomas Anderson, Noah Baumbach e os irm\u00e3os Safdie, respectivamente). \u00c9 quase como se, para entregar um bom trabalho, Sandler precise estar em um projeto conduzido por um realizador minimamente qualificado. Assim, quando constatamos que <em>O Halloween do Hubie<\/em> \u00e9 dirigido por Steven Brill, respons\u00e1vel por <em>Um Diabo Diferente<\/em>, <em>A Heran\u00e7a de Mr. Deeds<\/em> e <em>Zerando a Vida<\/em>, j\u00e1 podemos imaginar o resultado de antem\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqui o ator vive o protagonista do t\u00edtulo, um pacato balconista da cidade de Sal\u00e9m que \u00e9 ridicularizado por toda a comunidade, recebendo um tratamento decente apenas da m\u00e3e (June Squibb) e da eterna <em>crush<\/em> Violet (Julie Bowen). Com a chegada do Dia das Bruxas e uma sucess\u00e3o de eventos misteriosos, Hubie utiliza suas &#8220;habilidades&#8221; e senso de preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o para manter os habitantes locais a salvo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O maior problema do longa \u00e9, basicamente, n\u00e3o possuir gra\u00e7a alguma. Alguns dos recursos c\u00f4micos s\u00e3o os mais med\u00edocres poss\u00edveis, com <em>gags<\/em> envolvendo v\u00f4mito\/peido\/urina e \u2013 o que \u00e9 ainda mais baixo \u2013 estere\u00f3tipos raciais que surgem toda vez que um casal de fazendeiros negros discute. Outros momentos menos graves, mas nem por isso menos incompetentes, s\u00e3o as constantes repeti\u00e7\u00f5es (Hubie desviando de objetos atirados contra ele) e cenas previs\u00edveis (quando o protagonista est\u00e1 andando de bicicleta e se distrai olhando para Violet, \u00e9 \u00f3bvio o que acontecer\u00e1 em seguida).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"790\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/MV5BZDI2Y2EzMzQtZGY4OS00YTBhLTgwMTQtNDNhN2YzZGI5ZmU5XkEyXkFqcGdeQXNuZXNodQ%40%40._V1_.jpg?resize=790%2C445&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25946\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/MV5BZDI2Y2EzMzQtZGY4OS00YTBhLTgwMTQtNDNhN2YzZGI5ZmU5XkEyXkFqcGdeQXNuZXNodQ%40%40._V1_.jpg?w=1080&amp;ssl=1 1080w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/MV5BZDI2Y2EzMzQtZGY4OS00YTBhLTgwMTQtNDNhN2YzZGI5ZmU5XkEyXkFqcGdeQXNuZXNodQ%40%40._V1_.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al\u00e9m disso, a composi\u00e7\u00e3o do ator \u00e9 basicamente a mesma que j\u00e1 havia sido empregada em <em>O Rei da \u00c1gua<\/em> e <em>Um Diabo Diferente<\/em>, combinando boca entortada e voz anasalada, com eventuais gritos. Da mesma forma, a figura materna que June Squibb exerce aqui \u00e9 praticamente a mesma de Kathy Bates em <em>O Rei da \u00c1gua<\/em> (ali\u00e1s, a capacidade que Sandler tem de arrastar nomes consagrados para as suas bombas \u00e9 algo que ainda precisa ser estudado). E, claro, n\u00e3o poderiam faltar as pontas de nomes famosos e a presen\u00e7a de habituais parceiros (Kevin James, aqui mais caricato do que nunca), algo tamb\u00e9m recorrente em sua filmografia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O roteiro, escrito por Sandler junto com Tim Herlihy (que tamb\u00e9m escreveu as bombas acima mencionadas), \u00e9 uma bagun\u00e7a sem sentido que consiste em Hubie sendo alvo de pegadinhas e hostilidades que desviam a narrativa de uma suposta trama principal que culmina em uma li\u00e7\u00e3o de moral barata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De resto, o que sobra do longa s\u00e3o certas refer\u00eancias, aqui e ali, a filmes cl\u00e1ssicos de terror (\u00e9 preciso admitir que a de <em>Sexta-Feira 13<\/em> \u00e9 sutil e esperta) que o espectador talvez se divirta ao reconhec\u00ea-las, o que \u00e9 muito pouco para quem resolva dedicar mais de cem minutos de sua vida para acompanhar um projeto que constantemente subestima sua
