O Mister Rogers foi o criador do <em>Mister Rogers&#8217; Neighborhood<\/em>, um programa infantil de TV muito popular na d\u00e9cada de 1960, nos Estados Unidos. Duas vezes vencedor do Oscar, Tom Hanks estampa as campanhas publicit\u00e1rias do filme, podendo causar confus\u00e3o em quem assiste em busca do protagonismo do ator ou da exposi\u00e7\u00e3o da s\u00e9rie de TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Na verdade, o longa se ampara no artigo de Junod para contar a hist\u00f3ria de Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys), um c\u00e9tico jornalista investigativo que aceitou, relutantemente, escrever um breve texto sobre Rogers para acompanhar a foto do apresentador na revista <em>Esquire<\/em>, em uma mat\u00e9ria sobre her\u00f3is e pessoas inspiradoras. O que podia ser simula\u00e7\u00e3o de car\u00e1ter aos poucos se revela como uma gentileza genu\u00edna e o carisma de Hanks facilita a compreens\u00e3o da hombridade de Rogers. Com a aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o deste, a mudan\u00e7a na vida de Lloyd \u00e9 palp\u00e1vel, ele amadurece e passa a enxergar outros com empatia. A amizade entre os dois avan\u00e7a lentamente e o que seria uma mat\u00e9ria para tra\u00e7ar o perfil do apresentador torna-se um grande e inspirador artigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">O longa se vale da recente paternidade do protagonista para tratar desse tema com sutileza, mostrando o \u00f3bvio: que as obriga\u00e7\u00f5es com a crian\u00e7a n\u00e3o s\u00e3o apenas da m\u00e3e. Tamb\u00e9m ensina sobre o perd\u00e3o, mostrando que por mais dif\u00edcil que seja perdoar o ofensor, pode ser libertador para o ofendido, melhor do que manter uma raiva dentro de si, como no momento em que a personagem Joanne Rogers (Maryann Plunkett) diz que \u201ca pessoa pode escolher como responde \u00e0 raiva, fazendo coisas todos os dias que a ajudam\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Em uma passagem se denota a mensagem acerca da import\u00e2ncia de um jornalismo imparcial e da relev\u00e2ncia da m\u00eddia para a sociedade, como quando Rogers diz que \u201cas revistas est\u00e3o sempre cheias de informa\u00e7\u00f5es interessantes\u201d. A obra parte da premissa de que o jornalista pode mudar o mundo com suas palavras. Toda hist\u00f3ria tem pontos de vista e cabe ao detentor da not\u00edcia o dever de transmitir com honestidade e sem conferir ju\u00edzo de valor \u00e0s informa\u00e7\u00f5es. No entanto, apesar da ampla abordagem tem\u00e1tica, as mensagens s\u00e3o passadas de forma org\u00e2nica, com alguma sutileza. Deve-se reconhecer, contudo, que o enredo n\u00e3o consegue fugir de clich\u00eas, como as cenas do relacionamento conturbado de Vogel com o pai, Jerry (Chris Cooper), que facilitam o desenvolvimento da narrativa para apelar para o melodrama, mostrando que o perd\u00e3o leva \u00e0 reden\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">A pel\u00edcula funciona como um epis\u00f3dio adulto do <em>Mister Rogers&#8217; Neighborhood<\/em>, tendo como consequ\u00eancias algumas cenas tediosas que seriam facilmente descartadas.
