A hist\u00f3ria se situa em Nova York na d\u00e9cada de 50 e segue um solit\u00e1rio detetive particular, com s\u00edndrome de Tourette, Lionel Essrog (Norton), que est\u00e1 determinado a resolver o assassinato de seu mentor e grande amigo, Frank Minna (Bruce Willis). Antes de morrer, Minna deixa um caso enigm\u00e1tico sem solu\u00e7\u00e3o e, mesmo sem muitas pistas, Lionel decide ir em busca de desvendar o fato e conhecer os culpados pela morte do amigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/merlin_163351005_0c8be263-fde6-4078-8644-c1f3eb657cf6-articleLarge-1.jpg?resize=600%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22560\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">O que come\u00e7a com uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o de homic\u00eddio com parcas pistas ganha maiores propor\u00e7\u00f5es e acaba se transformando em um jogo de persegui\u00e7\u00e3o envolto em ra\u00edzes pol\u00edticas e quest\u00f5es sociais. Logo, Lionel se v\u00ea em uma trama complexa, diante de reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es sociais e conflitos entre o povo e as autoridades do governo devido ao processo de revitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o urbana nos bairros mais pobres. Ele tenta associar tais fatos ao assassinato de Frank, mas fica cada vez mais perdido. Ocorre que a motiva\u00e7\u00e3o inicial do protagonista cede espa\u00e7o ao fen\u00f4meno da gentrifica\u00e7\u00e3o, a qual assume o foco central da narrativa e as investiga\u00e7\u00f5es do detetive trilham novo rumo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">O bairro do Harlem, onde se passam as manifesta\u00e7\u00f5es no longa, tem\nsofrido com transforma\u00e7\u00f5es estruturais e essas altera\u00e7\u00f5es, que afetam as \u00e1reas\nmais pobres da cidade, intensificaram-se a partir de 1994, quando Rudolph\nGiuliani assumiu a Prefeitura de Nova York. Coincid\u00eancia ou n\u00e3o, o personagem\nde Alec Baldwin, um pol\u00edtico corrupto e infrator, que est\u00e1 a frente do processo\nde gentrifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 chamado de Moses Randolph. O tema \u00e9 v\u00e1lido e importante\nponto a ser discutido, tendo em vista que \u00e9 objeto de controv\u00e9rsias e\nposicionamentos d\u00edspares, mas n\u00e3o consegue segurar como foco do filme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">O longa \u00e9 ambicioso, conta com uma bela fotografia e um elenco primoroso, com nomes como Bruce Willis, William Dafoe, Bobby Cannavale e o pr\u00f3prio Edward Norton, o \u201ccabe\u00e7a\u201d da obra, al\u00e9m de situ\u00e1-la na d\u00e9cada de 50 a fim de conferir um clima <em>noir<\/em> ou, talvez, mascarar o alvo que se quer atingir com a tem\u00e1tica em cena. Mas, esses artif\u00edcios ainda n\u00e3o foram suficientes para cumprir o prometido. O roteiro \u00e9 confuso, conta com conveni\u00eancias para facilitar a narrativa e deixa alguns furos no ar. Exemplo disso \u00e9 que o vil\u00e3o poderia ter resolvido o imbr\u00f3glio desde o in\u00edcio, n\u00e3o fazendo sentido buscar a solu\u00e7\u00e3o para o problema s\u00f3 depois que o her\u00f3i desvenda o mist\u00e9rio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"790\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1083272.jpg?resize=790%2C444&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1083272.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cinematologia.com.br\/cine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1083272.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Permeado de sobretudos e ambientado no inverno, o filme carrega os ingredientes do g\u00eanero <em>noir<\/em> \u2013 <em>femme fatale<\/em>, detetive pitoresco, pessoas suspeitas, mist\u00e9rio a ser solvido \u2013 e essa atmosfera \u00e9 for\u00e7ada para se prender ao estilo, com ambienta\u00e7\u00e3o soturna, cores frias e m\u00fasica remetendo \u00e0 categoria. Contudo, n\u00e3o s\u00e3o s\u00f3 os elementos figurados que fazem uma proje\u00e7\u00e3o atingir um g\u00eanero com sucesso. Falta em <em>Brooklin Sem Pai Nem M\u00e3e<\/em> uma boa hist\u00f3ria, revela\u00e7\u00f5es convincentes, reviravoltas cl\u00e1ssicas, habilidades que fizeram o <em>noir<\/em> ter o reconhecimento que merece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">As atua\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o refinadas \u2013 os cacoetes de Norton devido \u00e0 s\u00edndrome s\u00e3o veross\u00edmeis, mas essa condi\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o interfere em nada na hist\u00f3ria \u2013 e a dire\u00e7\u00e3o de arte \u00e9 competente e cumpre bem o seu papel. Destaque, tamb\u00e9m, para a trilha sonora que define o tom e \u00e9 f\u00e1cil de apreciar, al\u00e9m de que o filme apresenta uma bela m\u00fasica original escrita e executada por Thom Yorke. No entanto, a hist\u00f3ria n\u00e3o se sustenta, o desfecho n\u00e3o \u00e9 consistente e em um passar de olhos \u00e9 f\u00e1cil desconstruir o roteiro falho e ineficaz. Longa demais, a narrativa se arrasta e entrega uma conclus\u00e3o decepcionante para a saga, que apesar de possuir um tema interessante, \u00e9 ca\u00f3tica na tentativa de ser
