A s\u00e9rie australiana foi escrita por Josh Thomas que j\u00e1 era conhecido no pa\u00eds como comediante. Josh \u00e9, tamb\u00e9m, o protagonista da hist\u00f3ria. Ou seja, ele escreve, atua e dirige alguns dos epis\u00f3dios. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 confirma\u00e7\u00e3o de que a roteiro seja totalmente autobiogr\u00e1fico, mas \u00e9 inspirado em acontecimentos reais da vida do autor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh e seu melhor amigo Tom (Thomas Ward) moram juntos e enfrentam os dilemas do come\u00e7o da vida adulta. O ponto de partida da hist\u00f3ria \u00e9 quando a m\u00e3e de Josh, Rose (Debra Lawrence), tenta se matar, e ele se descobre gay. Tudo isso acontece no primeiro cap\u00edtulo. Pode parecer muita informa\u00e7\u00e3o para 25 minutos \u2014 dura\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00e9dia de cada epis\u00f3dio \u2014 mas, o roteiro n\u00e3o \u00e9 apressado, os cortes entre as cenas s\u00e3o suaves e o ritmo se mant\u00e9m at\u00e9 o final da s\u00e9rie. Os epis\u00f3dios s\u00e3o carregados de cenas de com\u00e9dia, com um humor sarc\u00e1stico que brinca com a dura realidade dos personagens. Mesmo assim, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 sequer um cap\u00edtulo que deixe de provocar alguma reflex\u00e3o sobre assuntos que envolvem suic\u00eddio, transtornos mentais, homofobia e machismo. O grau de realidade das cenas que tratam sobre esses temas se deve, principalmente, \u00e0 espontaneidade dos atores e a di\u00e1logos t\u00e3o bem escritos que parecem ter sido improvisados na hora, ou gravados do cotidiano de uma fam\u00edlia real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A s\u00e9rie terminou em 2016 com quatro temporadas. Com a passagem do tempo, o peso no drama pelo qual a narrativa se desenvolve se torna cada vez mais presente. A maneira como Josh lida com os problemas pode causar certa estranheza, contudo, o que parecia inconceb\u00edvel no come\u00e7o, desperta empatia depois.\u00a0 <em>Please Like Me<\/em> \u00e9 uma li\u00e7\u00e3o de amor, amizade e companheirismo que n\u00e3o cai em clich\u00eas.
