Fiddler on the Roof is a Broadway show that tells the story of a Jewish family in ancient times. The family consists of a father, mother and five sisters who live in a small village called Anatevka, far from the big city.
The drama tells the story of arranged marriages, in which the father has the highest authority to choose the bride and groom of his daughters. Three of the five sisters find their great love, which makes the decision to marry a personal choice and not an arrangement made by their parents. Then, the father finds himself in the decision to accept the daughters’ choices, which is revolutionary for the time.
